Since I wrote this post several new reviews of The 13th Horseman have popped up online, and I’m pleased to report they’ve all been hugely complimentary. I’ve collected some of them here in case you need any further convincing to part with your cash and buy it.
Don’t forget, you can also read the “prequel” to the book in blog format, over at The13thHorseman.com. If you’ve already read the book, you might spot one or two little in-jokes that those who haven’t read the book won’t catch. Feel free to pat yourself firmly on the back if you do.
Anyway, on with the reviews…
“It’s firmly aimed at children of all ages, and those new to reading will find it a delight, filled with silly gags, clever turns of phrase and a very, very daft plot. More experienced types will get exactly the same experience, though perhaps be a little surprised at some of the genuinely laugh at loud moments.” – Starburst Magazine
“I’m just left hoping that this is the start to a new series because I haven’t laughed so much in ages. If you’re a fan of comic fantasy then The 13th Horseman is a MUST read for all ages and one I can’t recommend highly enough!” – Feeling Fictional
“I think it is up there with the best of them; just about anyone and everyone will love to read it.” – Mr Ripley’s Enchanted Books
“Well written, good characters, and the horsemen themselves will have you smiling when you wouldn’t expect to.” – Much Loved Books
“I loved this book so much. I am still chuckling over the funny sketches in it a week after reading it.” – Serendipity Reviews
“Hutchison’s work is not only hilarious; it contains a high degree of wit and intelligence. He delights not only in the apparent endless idiocy of humankind, but in the describing of it. This delight is infectious, his ability impressive.” – Books For Keeps
“Never have I laughed so much at the idea of an apocalypse!” – The Kooky Toon Book Corner
“It’s a very nearly perfect book.” – Bookwitch
Right, I think that’s enough to be going on with. If you’re still unsure, though, take a look at this review over on Amazon. If that doesn’t convince you, nothing will.
