At the time of writing, according to the Apocalypse Countdown, there are 125 days left until the publication of my first standalone novel, The 13th Horseman. I’m already well into the rewrite of the follow-up book, and have pitched ideas for a third and fourth book in the… um… not series.
Because it isn’t a series. There is no running story that goes through all the books like in Invisible Fiends. Each book stands by itself, although there may be the occasional cameo appearance by characters from other books. At least one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse makes an appearance in the next book, for example, but I’m not telling you which one.
So it’s not a series. It’s a group of loosely connected books set in and around various afterlives – Heaven, Hell, Asgard, Hades, to name but a few. I’m calling them Afterworlds books because, well, because it’s as good a name as any.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The first book isn’t even out yet, and I’m blabbering on about future stories. Let’s just take a step back from my mad ramblings and pause to appreciate the cover of The 13th Horseman, as drawn by the frankly brilliant David Wyatt.

Also, I’ll chuck bog roll at your house if you don’t.
Hey barry. book sounds great..Is u going to be the New Terry??? I extremely hope so specially as he has probably not got too long in our lovey or not so lovely domain.
When can we buy it?
Love to all. Teeny. xxx
Funny you should say that. It’s being described as “Pratchett meets Python” apparently. Monty Python, like. It’s not like Terry Pratchett being eaten by a big snake. That would be horrifying.
It’s not out until March 1st 2012, though, so still got a bit of a wait…
