Book Cover Wars 2011
You may remember that last year, The Crowmaster was one of the finalists in the Book Cover Wars event held over at Mr Ripley’s Enchanted Books. I asked you to vote and you voted in your tens! Sadly, The Crowmaster was beaten by… someone else. I forget who. That pesky Shan, probably. Anyway, that was last year. This year it isn’t the Crowmaster who needs your help, it’s the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse because The 13th Horseman is in …

Mr Mumbles comes to life
Utterly fab author, Gillian Philip, sent me a message on Twitter to say that her son, Jamie, was going to dress up as Mr Mumbles for Halloween. Jamie has been a fan of the Invisible Fiends series since he, his twin sister, Lucy, and the rest of their class came along to see me at the Get Moray Reading festival in Elgin. He knew exactly how he wanted his outfit to look, and so he put his mum to work… …

The 13th Horseman cover
At the time of writing, according to the Apocalypse Countdown, there are 125 days left until the publication of my first standalone novel, The 13th Horseman. I’m already well into the rewrite of the follow-up book, and have pitched ideas for a third and fourth book in the… um… not series. Because it isn’t a series. There is no running story that goes through all the books like in Invisible Fiends. Each book stands by itself, although there may be …

Apocalypse Dos and Don’ts
The end of the world is coming. There’s no point crying about it, we just have to accept it and do what we can to prepare for the Day of Judgement when it eventually comes. Luckily, I’ve been given some advice on how best to get ready for The End, and being the caring sort, I thought I’d share it with you lot. Click the image below to read my Apocalypse Dos and Don’ts. You’ll thank me for it some …
Scream Street: Shiver of the Phantom
The final book in me old mucker, Tommy Donbavand’s SCREAM STREET series has recently been published, and to mark the occasion Tommy has written an exclusive thirteen part story which is running over a whole load of blogs. When Tommy asked if I’d be happy to host a chapter of the story here I jumped at the chance. Tommy and I chatted about his idea for a street full of haunted houses when it only existed in his head, so …

Some Recent Events
I’m not going to write a huge amount at the moment, because I’m hammering away at the final Invisible Fiends book which is due to be sent to my editor in a little over a month (ulp). I’ve spent more time plotting this book than I usually would, what with all the plot strands that need to be tied up, and the fact this is the EPIC, END OF THE WORLD CONCLUSION to the entire series. If you’ve read the …

The Big Blog Story – Part 16
This year the Bath Festival of Children’s Literature decided it would be a right laugh to start a blog story, co-written by a whole heap of children’s authors, illustrators, and other creative types. I was lucky enough to be asked to take part, and today is the day my little ‘chapter’ goes live. You might want to catch up on the story so far by visiting all the blogs below. Once you’re up to speed, you’ll find my bit below. …

Get Set for SCARE FEST 2
We’re into October, so I can finally allow myself to start getting excited about the BIG EVENT I’m taking part in later this month. On Thursday, 20th October I’ll be teaming up with five other horror authors to bring you SCARE FEST 2 – a three-hour extravaganza of scares, shocks and screams. Who knows, there may even be a few laughs in there, too. As well as me, the event features me old mucker, Tommy Donbavand, plus Jon Mayhew, Curtis …
