Something BEASTLY this way comes.
Don’t worry, Invisible Fiends fans. With all this talk lately of The 13th Horseman, I haven’t forgotten about Kyle and Ameena and their adventures with the monsters from The Darkest Corners. The fifth book in the series, THE BEAST, is now finished and will be coming out a little earlier than expected – on January 5th 2012 to be exact. Which is just one day before my birthday, in case any of you want to send me a present or …
Meeting Neil Gaiman
Last night I met a hero of mine. It was in a crypt below a church with the thunder of drums hanging heavy and ominous in the air. And a right cracking night it was, too. You might not have heard of Neil Gaiman. At least, you might not have heard of him if you’re deaf and blind, and have spent the last 20 years living in a ditch. On the moon. Just in case this describes you, here’s a …
Edinburgh 2011
Well that’s it for another year. My appearances at the 2011 Edinburgh International Book Festival are done and dusted. This was my second year at the festival, and this year I was taking part in two events, instead of one. Yesterday I spoke to an audience of around 200 from four or five different schools. They’d all come to hear me talk about Invisible Fiends, but they got more than they bargained for when MY FEET EXPLODED as I stepped …

Where’s Wall-E?
I’m in the middle of getting ready for my trip to the Edinburgh Book Festival, but just nipped on to post this picture. It’s pretty self-explanatory, really. I actually found Wall-E quite quickly, and then spent the next 20 minutes looking at all the other robots and trying to name them. Click the image to make it large enough to see in detail.

Support your local zombie cop
Just a very quick post to let you all know about the fundraising campaign running at the moment for my comic mini-series, GANGRENE, which I’ve spoken about on here before. In order to finish the comic and get it to print, we’re trying to raise $4000 – about £2500 – and we need as many people as possible to dig into their pockets and donate as little as $5 (£3). In return for their generosity, everyone who donates will get …

Doc Mortis publication day!
It’s finally here. Today is the day the fourth Invisible Fiends book, Doc Mortis, is released. I’ve been waiting a long time for this one, as it’s my favourite of the series so far for all sorts of reasons (and not just because it’s the scariest). To celebrate launch day I’ve done a new video blog, which you can see over at Mr Ripley’s Enchanted Books, as part of the blog tour. Speaking of the tour, have you been following …

Doc Mortis
The fourth thrilling book in this darkly funny horror series Darren Shan called ‘deliciously nightmarish’. Kyle wakes up in hospital – which is strange, because he doesn’t remember being ill. And that’s not all. He’s also deliriously flitting in and out of the Darkest Corners, and in the shadow version of the hospital the surfaces aren’t clean, and the sharp instruments aren’t used for healing. It’s Kyle’s most terrifying experience yet, and it’s about to get much, much worse. The …
