The Lennoxlove Book Festival

About 17 or 18 years ago this man came and spoke to my English class at Lochaber High School: Iain Banks – or Iain M Banks, depending on which type of book he’s writing – is an author of both mainstream fiction and Science Fiction. His first published book – The Wasp Factory – was a massive international bestseller, and a huge influence on me as a teenager. I’d known for years before Iain came to my school that I …

What? ANOTHER video blog?

Hot on the heels of my earlier video blog, here’s another one. I’m reading from The Crowmaster again in this one, the difference being that this time I’m reading aloud.

New Video Blog. Finally.

It has taken me a while, but I’ve finally managed to knock together another video blog. This was shot on a dodgy webcam with an even more dodgy microphone, so the video/audio quality isn’t great, but then I don’t exactly have a face designed for High Definition, so perhaps it’s for the best. While in the bookshop side, my son, Kyle spotted this signed copy of Raggy Maggie on display. It was the only copy left in the store, from a bundle I signed just over a …

The Crowmaster needs YOU!

Earlier this year, Mr Mumbles was one of the books entered into the Book Cover Wars on Mr Ripley’s Enchanted Books. The competition pits book cover against book cover, and gives readers of the blog the chance to vote for their favourites. Poor old Mr Mumbles didn’t win in the end, but now it’s The Crowmaster’s turn to see if he can do better. To vote, all you have to do is go along to this page, select The Crowmaster …

Five Frightening Fings, Part 2

Because the first part of this list became a bit image heavy, I thought it was best to break it into two posts. Also, I couldn’t be bothered finishing it at the time, if I’m being completely honest. I’m not even going to finish it this time, either. I’m going to do another two things from my list, and then hit you with the last one later in the week. How d’you like THEM apples? It’s not even Hallowe’en any …
