An early review for Mr Mumbles, the first book in the Invisible Fiends series, has now popped up online. I’m delighted to report that it’s a good one, so scoot along here to read it for yourself.
I paid a visit to Lochyside Primary School near Fort William today and had a fantastic time. Too exhausted from jumping about like a maniac and talking non-stop about children’s books to write a full report on the day, but I’ll do one soon.

Hey Charis, great to hear from you! Really pleased that you enjoyed the workshop and found it useful. I had a great time, and loved the ideas everyone was coming up with.
It’s great to hear that you want to be an author. I was about your age when I decided that was what I wanted to do. It takes a lot of hard work and determination (and quite a lot of luck) to become an author, but if you try hard you’ll do it.
The next workshops I’m doing are all in other schools, but I’ll probably be doing one soon at the library. I’ll post a message here when I know the date, and I’ll send you an email so you don’t miss it!

Hey Barry my name’s Syeda. You came to my school (Coal primary school). I read your book ‘Invisible fiends’. I absolutely loved it . I can’t wait for the next one. It is so descriptive I actually felt like I was there and it did give me a couple of goose bumps once or twice.

Hi Syeda,
Thanks for your review – it’s great to hear you enjoyed reading all about Mr Mumbles! I had a fantastic time visiting Caol, and will be coming back shortly after the book comes out in January. I might even give you all a sneak preview of book 2 then…
Cheers!

Dear Barry
I am writing to say what a good book you have written.
It was a very good book, a bit scary but that made it even better. I liked how you described everything so you could picture it in your head. Thank you for giving me the proof and it was very good to read.
